Bob Schneider

Genre: Alternative Rock

Walker Pickens Opens

Advance Tickets Recommended; 9:00PM

Bob Schneider’s fellow Texans as well as his rabid U.S. fan base will testify to his abilities, as he has become the most awarded singer songwriter in Austin’s history, winning over thirty Austin Music Awards. His scruffy good looks and strong, husky voice provide a good complement to his semi-confessional songwriting. The real beauty of Schneider’s artistic career is about the freedom to constantly write, record and stockpile songs. While he’s already released hundreds of songs with his bands, Schneider estimates there were at least a thousand songs that didn’t fit his band’s concepts.

The Mavericks: MaloCon III

Country (Advance Tickets Recommended; 9:00PM)

The Mavericks are back. The country-steeped garage band with a Cuban American lead singer that emerged from Miami in 1989 with their sultry debut reunited in 2012 after an eight-year hiatus. Time has a way of melting when you’re busy living life – and two decades have passed since their polyrhythmic brand of post-modern country gave the world “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down,” “Here Comes the Rain,” and “Dance the Night Away.” The “most interesting band in the world” has captured the infectious energy and robust sound from their live shows on their latest release, In Time, and has once again found the way to make genre-defying soul music.
